We are a group of people who love Jesus and love people.  We are sidewalk counselors who stand outside the abortion center located on the top floor of the Building For Women (32 E First St), and offer help and hope for moms and dads who are scared and considering abortion.  We are the last voice of love and reason before they enter and end the life of their child. 

It’s been said of abortion: ‘You will always remember the child you never knew.’  That is so true.  Not only does abortion kill an innocent baby, the woman is also hurt.   She carries the pain of her lost baby with her.  Most, if not all moms who have an abortion can’t help but remember the anniversary of the day that they did it, and whether they intend to or not, their brains often keep a running tally of how old their child would have been, had they allowed him or her to live.  And the heartbreak doesn’t end there.  The dads are affected by the death of their baby as well, as are the grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and any extended family who would have been touched by the life of that baby.  The ripples of pain, heartbreak, regret, and needless suffering extend further than probably most of us realize. 

Since the ruling of Roe v. Wade in 1973 that legalized abortion in all of the United States, we as a nation have lost more than 62,502,904 innocent babies to the holocaust of abortion.  That number is too big to grasp, but here’s some perspective:  In 2022 in Duluth alone, we lost 537 innocent children to murder at the Building for Women.  In 2023 and so far in 2024 we’ve seen an average of 10 – 12 babies killed EVERY WEEK.  Even though the Dobbs decision overturned Roe, abortion is far from ended, especially in MN.  If anything, abortion access and frequency is only increasing here.

This must end.  The preborn cannot speak for themselves, so that’s why we must speak out for them.
